INTRO TO EPISODE:
Hello, Health Investor!
Welcome back to another episode of The Health Investment Podcast!
Today, you’re going to hear from Khadijah Ameen and Paulah Wheeler, two of the four founders of BLKHLTH.
BLKHLTH is an Atlanta-based nonprofit that aims to critically engage and challenge racism and its impact on health.
They provide workshops, training, community events, and create digital media that address the pathways through which systemic racism leads to poorer health outcomes for Black people.
Khadijah and Paulah are graduates of Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health.
They work on all things BLKHLTH in addition to working full-time for various public health organizations that focus on HIV/AIDS, global health, and health systems strengthening.
In the episode, Khadijah and Paulah share common misconceptions about Black health, some root causes of poor health outcomes in Black communities, things that are happening in our country right now that bring them hope…and more!
Do me a favor: While you’re listening, take a selfie, post it to social media, tag me @thehealthinvestment, and let me know your takeaways! I love seeing you in action and learning your favorite parts of each episode!!
Alright, it’s time for ME to stop talking so you can hear from Khadijah and Paulah…enjoy!
